Family Tragedy

In early Fall we received shocking news.  Joel's brother had suddenly and unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack.  We made the trip to Ohio to visit family we had not seen for too many years.  With a fur-family as big as ours, and with Lady so advanced in age, the dogs have to go with us if we travel (for our own peace of mind).   They provided so much comfort as well on the drive--especially to Joel.  There is something very calming about having a Golden Retriever around.  It is the best therapy.

Mark, Joel's brother, was a very generous and kind man.  He would give the world for his daughter or for any friend in need.  We don't understand why his life was cut so short, but we know he lived a good life while he was here.

I'm trying to find some photos of Mark, but I don't have them on this laptop.  This photo is of Joel with his mom, Aunt Goldie, and Kayla (Mark's Daughter), taken several years ago:

I took several photos on our trip to Ohio and back--mostly of the pups--which are below.

We couldn't take everyone, so Sebastian and Molly had to board.  Molly was just sleepy when we picked her up.  Sebastian was angry.
