In late July we received our first foster horses from Volunteer Equine Advocates. The horses came to us timid and scared, and over time became extremely socialized and all found new homes. We have 4 foster horses right now, but all of the horses that started with us have been adopted (except for 2 that moved to different foster homes).
The original herd included Jess, Mazie, Mango (not adopted, pregnant and due to have her baby any day), Molly, JR (not adopted, moved to the gelding farm), and Sybil. Shortly after that Tabitha and Demi came to our home, too. Tabitha has also been adopted, and Demi, though still with us has a new home right around the corner.

Summer's Glory
After buying our home in March we went right to work on getting things sorted out. We love the lushness of Summer and the comfort of all the green around us. While we still have a lot to do, we still look at the land around us and have to marvel at the beauty of God's creation.
Infinite Foliage
We got a start on our courtyard landscape with a stop at Tony's Backyard Nursery in Joelton. The deals at Tony's are so good, but we don't have a truck anymore, so we crammed as many plants as possible into Joel's Infiniti. The result was a veritable wall of green plants....and only a little dirt spilled in the car.
Vroom Vroom Firestarter
When we bought the house there was a big burn pile on the property. It was in a really bad spot, directly under trees, but it was also too big to relocate before burning off. In preparation for the horses to come, we finally strung hoses over to it, and did our fire dance. It was ridiculous, but went well. Do not try this at home!
